David Sedaris Discusses New Book

Biting Wit: Bestselling humor writer David Sedaris (brother of Amy) will read from and discuss his insightfully sarcastic work at GWU's Lisner Auditorium tonight, with a special focus on his newest book, Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk: A Modest Bestiary. Tickets $40-$45. 8 p.m.

Pop Plus Puppets: Norway's Casiokids make bouncy, neon-hued electro-pop that's fun to dance to (RIYL: Hot Chip). We're told their stage show also includes a "digital and shadow puppet theatre," which frankly sounds kind of awesome. At DC9. Tickets $12. 8 p.m.

Round Two: The last time avant-pop weirdo John Maus played D.C., critics weren't so pleased. But if you've got a flair for the challenging, give Maus another try at the Black Cat tonight, where he's joined by the comparatively straightforward acts Big Troubles and Young Prisms. Tickets $12. 8 p.m.

Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck every day by peeping Play's Dance Card.
