Cut Copy's Post-Show DJ Set

Second Chance: If you couldn't score tickets for their sold-out gig at the 9:30 Club tonight, head over to U Street Music Hall to watch Aussie dance-poppers Cut Copy do a post-show DJ set. Crate-diggers extraordinaire, expect a wide-ranging set of early house and classic pop. $10; 10 p.m.

Dream State: Known for elegant, pastoral indie-pop (think Grizzly Bear), San Francisco's Papercuts recently signed to indie powerhouse Sub Pop. Tonight at the Black Cat they'll be joined by UK bedroom artist Banjo or Freakout, who does dreamy, sampled tunes in the same vein as Atlas Sound. $10; 9 p.m.

Björk-esque: Rising from the ashes of the defunct Pretty Girls Make Graves, Seattle's Cave Singers make jagged, rootsy indie-rock. They're plenty good, but we're most excited about tonight's Red Palace opener, Lia Ices, a Brooklyn singer with an avant-garde approach that recalls Björk. $12; 8 p.m.

Going out can be a gamble, so why leave it up to chance? Stack the deck every day by peeping Play's Dance Card.
