FedEx Field adds WFT logo, camouflage for Salute to Service game originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
All eyes will be on FedEx Field this Sunday when the Washington Football Team hosts the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not only will Week 10’s matchup be an important game for both teams (for very different reasons), but it will also be Washington’s Salute to Service game.
To commemorate the occasion, the WFT added some spice to their home field in Landover. Washington’s ‘W’ logo was added to the 50-yard line for the first time since the team dropped its former nickname nearly two years ago, replacing the NFL logo.

The NFL’s annual Salute to Service celebration is a public honoring of the military. Teams from around the league commemorate service members through special in-game announcements, in addition to the annual Salute to Service award presented to one member of the league. Washington nominated head coach Ron Rivera for the honor this season.
